What is an MRI?

MRI, or magnetic resonance imaging uses a magnet and radio frequency waves to create images of your body. These images allow doctors to look inside your body to diagnose bone or joint conditions in a safe and painless way.

What if I am claustrophobic?

The open design of our MRI machine with access on all four sides ensures that you receive the most comfortable MRI experience possible while reducing claustrophobia.

How long will the appointment take?

Allow about an hour for your appointment. Our technologist will ask you if you are wearing any metal including deodorant or some kinds of makeup, or if have any metal implanted in your body. You may be asked to change into a robe.

Can I listen to music during the scan?

Feel free to bring in your iPod or favorite CD so that you can listen to music during your scan with headphones. Wearing headphones also allows our technologist to communicate with you during your scan. To ensure your comfort while lying in the machine, pillows and blankets are available upon request.
