Fremont Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Basil BeshDr. Besh is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with a Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Besh specializes in surgical and nonsurgical treatment of hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow conditions. He completed his undergraduate studies as the valedictorian of his class at Columbia University School of Engineering in New York City and completed his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Dr. Besh then completed his residency program in orthopaedic surgery at the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, where he was invited to stay on following his residency to complete the prestigious Emmanuel Kaplan Fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. Dr. Besh spent several years in private practice in New York City, during which he participated in the care of both the Mets and the Knicks, prior to relocating his family to the Bay Area.

Dr. Besh specializes in the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow conditions for patients of all ages and activity levels. His specialties include:

Most conditions involving the hand, wrist, and elbow can be treated non-operatively. Often, rest, anti-inflammatory medications, activity modification, splinting, and ice are used. When surgery is necessary, all needs of the patient are addressed. The process includes:
